MIA ISLAND, and a few other things

We want to tell you about our adventures on the Indian Ocean.  We started at the port city of Tanga, Tanzania, and took a boat out into the ocean.  But we are having trouble posting pictures or comments to our blog.  So, we are going to post some responses to your fabulous questions here in this new post.  We also include a map to show you where we are traveling in Africa (so far: from Dar to Tanga to Lushoto):

WHAT IT IS LIKE IN AFRICA
Here in Africa its usually pretty hot. Where we are in the mountains, its really green but it can be really dry in other places. There are a lot of different flowers, animals, and style here. Its interesting to see it all.

REGARDING CHICKENS
The chickens at our friend Inno`s chicken farm are mostly cute. I think the baby chicks are the cutest. The 2 year old chickens  lay eggs.  When the chickens get old and cant lay any more eggs, Inno sells those old chickens for meat.

BACK TO MIA ISLAND
This island is named after Mia. All it is is a beach, in the ocean that is usually covered with water. It is really cool. There are LOTS OF CRABS!!!! They make really deep holes.

Did you know that we stayed at a chicken farm when we got to Tanzania on Tuesday?  2,500 new chicks arrived the night after we did and they are really cute.

Hi from Dubai

This is the Burj Khalkifa, the tallest building in the world!  We are going up inside it in a few hours.  Mia and Maddie went skiing at the mall and we took this picture as we were zooming by on the subway.  More later...

The Flights we are Taking Now

This map shows where we will be flying -- that is the blue line.  We start flying in Los Angles at 4:00 in the afternoon and don't get to Dubai until 7:00 in the evening the next day.  We will see two sunsets without even getting out of the plane.  That is because we will be flying in the opposite direction the world is spinning.

Should we go back to Egypt?

Here is my sister's elephant, Elmer, visiting Egypt a few years ago.  We would like to vist Egypt this time, but only if they are not fighting.  It would be fun to drive a camel, or a tank. What do you think?
